 McMillin joins CCFF Board
Pastor Harold McMillin, of Guttenberg, has been named to the Clayton County Foundation for the Future (CCFF) Board.
 
McMillin, who serves St. Paul and St. John’s Lutheran Churches in Guttenberg, brings previous experience working in partnership with nonprofits like Lutheran Social Services, Shepherd of the Hills, and EWALU, as the foundation makes strategic grants to the nonprofits in Clayton County from its endowment. McMillin also serves as the Chaplain to the Guttenberg Fire Department.
 
CCFF Chair Lanny Kuehl, of Garnavillo, said, “We are so pleased to know Pastor Harold will be representing the Guttenberg community as we build philanthropy.”

Youth Area Philanthropists Announce 2010 Grant Cycle 
Grant applications are available from the YAPPERS (Youth Area Philanthropists), the youth board of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. Dubuque County youth-serving agencies are eligible to receive up to $500 for programs fulfilling at least one of the five America’s Promises promoted by Dubuque’s Every Child | Every Promise initiative. The Five America’s Promises are; Caring Adults, Safe Places, Healthy Start, Effective Education, and Opportunities to Serve. 
 
Eligible organizations include youth serving, 501(c)3 tax-exempt, and non-profit agencies. Organizations must be in active service to the public for at least one year prior to applying, and be operated and organized in such a manner that no applicable anti-discrimination laws are violated.
 
CLICK HERE to download a grant application. One original and five photocopies of the application are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, 700 Locust Street, Suite 195. Announcement of grant recipients will be April 5th.
