Eight local young people are boosting their personal money smarts—and their bank accounts—thanks to an initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, supported by Four Oaks and Dupaco Community Credit Union.

A $28,600 gift from the Theisen’s Home*Farm*Auto Fund held at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque will make it possible for local kids to enjoy a summer camp experience that would otherwise be out of reach.

As the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD) approaches its 10th anniversary, the tri-states’ resource for charitably minded individuals, families, corporations and nonprofits is already celebrating some impressive milestones: In 2011, the Foundation awarded $3.8 million grants and its assets have now topped $30 million.
