In Youth centers, affordable housing, theaters, symphonies, libraries, colleges, art museums, human service organizations, neighborhood parks, the environment, scholarships . . . everywhere you look we can improve the quality of life
Every year, The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations in the tri-state area. In addition, we manage funds tailored to the specific interests of donors. These funds support a broad arraythe donor, directed to a general cause, made in memory of a loved one of organizations. Grants from these funds can be advised by or directed by the knowledge and experience of Foundation staff.
An Active Steward
The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque is a "give-through" rather than a "give-to" organization – fundraising not for our own operations, but developing funds which are distributed locally.
Through our grants, we help community organizations increase their capacity to serve. We believe in the expertise and creativity of nonprofit organizations, and provide support to help them do what they do best.
We work to strengthen nonprofits by offering a variety of training programs and networking opportunities that build their capacity and organizational structure. We regularly evaluate nonprofits to which we give to assure our donors and ourselves that funds produce the maximum benefit for improving lives.
Community Convener
The Foundation brings donors together with nonprofit leaders to discuss challenges and to find creative solutions using the wisdom of both the private and public sectors.
In all our activities, we strive to make a difference in the lives of the people who live, work and play in the greater Dubuque area.
