grant applications

Application Process

The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque annually accepts Letters of Intent in mid-June. Letters of Intent are reviewed and proposals that match the funding priority for the current grant cycle may be invited to submit a full grant application in late July. Applicants may be interviewed following their submission of the full proposal.

The Community Foundation’s 2009 grant funding priority was Neighborhood Development within neighborhoods of need. (Neighborhoods of need included areas with low-income residents, slum and blight, lack of organized recreation, etc.) Organizations were to be located in other parts of city, but the grant-funding was used for neighborhood development within areas of need. We encouraged applicants to be creative with their proposals. The targeted outcome was to encourage positive neighborhood transformation to create safer neighborhoods, supported and stable families, healthy relationships, increased awareness and understanding, neighborhood pride, increased financial stability, options for healthy lifestyles, increased social and civic engagement opportunities, etc.
