How should I obtain, submit, assemble and deliver my letter of intent?
- Letters of intent are accepted starting May 1, 2009. Forms can be obtained annually by:
- Visiting this website during the application submission period
- Calling the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque at: (563) 588-2700
- Visiting the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque Office
- Applications must be mailed (postmarked by) or hand delivered to the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque
by 5:00 PM on (date TBA)
- Submit one complete original and eight copies
- Do not use folders or bindings to enhance presentation of your proposal
- Letters of Intent sent via e-mail or fax will not be accepted.
- Late Letters of Intent will not be accepted.
- Please deliver applications to the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque Office
How will organizations be invited to submit a full application?
- The Community Foundation will review the Letters of Intent and invite organizations to submit a full grant application
for their programs in July.
- Organizations will be notified via phone or mail. Applications forms will be provided to those organizations selected.
- Organizations will have 4-6 weeks to complete full applications.
- Unsolicited applications will not be accepted.
- Schedule with CFGD a site visit to demonstrate how funds were used
- Complete and return an evaluation form by June 30, 2010
What is the application review process?
- The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque staff will document all grant applications and eliminate any
applications that are late.
- The staff conducts site visits or telephone interviews, when appropriate.
- The Grantmaking Committee reviews the applications/proposals.
- Following the Committee’s review, the Committee makes funding recommendations to the full Board of Directors.
- The Grantmaking Committee’s recommendations will be presented to the CFGD Board of Directors no earlier than
the September 16, 2008 Board meeting.
- The Board makes the final decision on grant awards.
What are the reporting requirements?
- Sign and return a letter of acknowledgement confirming acceptance of the grant
- Participate in meetings to discuss outcomes of grant with the Grantmaking Committee.
