How We Make a Difference

Increasing collaboration among organizations to remove barriers to success.

Providing data and information to develop consensus around a shared agenda.

Advocating for effective policies, practices and systems.

Attracting resources to support the organizations in the community that work to help all young people succeed.

Young people succeed in school, a career and in our community when caring adults and organizations work together. For the past decade, Every Child/Every Promise has driven systems change by increasing collaboration to bring the expertise, passion and reach needed to deliver the Five Promises to youth.

ECEP believes that no single organization can ensure the future success of our community’s youth – it takes a network of organizations and individuals working together.

Third Grade Reading Initiative

ECEP served as a catalyst for the Dubuque Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. This collaborative effort by funders and nonprofit partners across the community to ensure that more low-income children succeed in school and are prepared for college, a career, and active citizenship. The campaign focuses on the most important predictor of school success and high school graduation: grade-level reading by the end of third grade.
