Applications Now Available for YAPPERS Grants

The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD) is proud to announce the launch of the 12th annual YAPPERS grantmaking cycle. Nonprofits are invited to apply for YAPPERS grants now through the March 1 deadline.

The YAPPERS are local high school students who serve as CFGD’s youth grantmaking board. YAPPERS grants to youth-serving nonprofits help organizations strengthen and grow their programs. Preference is given to proposals that focus on meeting basic human needs, combating violence, providing opportunities for youth, and/or raising awareness for issues that local youth are facing. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that have been in active service to the public for at least one year prior to the application. Applications are available now at www.dbqfoundation.org/yappers.

YAPPERS grants are funded by proceeds from the YAPPERS’ annual Feed the Need luncheon and silent auction and Sweet Treats Cake Auction at the Foundation’s Community Block Party. Last year, the students granted a total of $5,000 to local nonprofits.

The YAPPERS are youth grantmakers in our community. They meet to engage in teambuilding and leadership activities, to discuss local youth issues, to plan events and service projects, and to make funding decisions to support youth-serving organizations. Learn more at www.dbqfoundatio.org/yappers.
