Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque Brings the Fundraising Readiness Project to Northeast Iowa

The McCarthy Center for Nonprofits was founded in 2008 by the late Leo McCarthy and his wife Joy to help strengthen nonprofits throughout Northeast Iowa. Today the McCarthy Center for Nonprofits provides training and resources to support nonprofit fundraising and board governance.

New to the McCarthy Center this spring is The Fundraising Readiness Project. The Fundraising Readiness Project, sponsored by Chicago Community Trust, aims to connect small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations with the same resources as those of large nonprofits. To succeed in this goal, the Project pairs small nonprofits with a professional fundraiser of their choice to ensure that nonprofits are not limited due to lack of resources.

“The Fundraising Readiness Project is a unique opportunity for nonprofits to enhance their fundraising programs,” said Kari McCann, CFGD director of nonprofit partnerships and grantmaking. “The best part is that organizations can choose how they want to engage in the program and what resources and tools will be most useful for their organizations.”

Through the Project, nonprofits will receive free resources, coaching, training and tools to enhance their fundraising programs. The program is open to all nonprofits in Allamakee, Delaware, Clayton, Jackson, and Jones Counties and Jo Davies County in Illinois. To learn more, nonprofits are encouraged to attend the one of four meetings scheduled for May 18 -19. The Dubuque County Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for May 18 from 2:00-3:30 pm in the McCarthy Center, 700 Locust Street, Second Floor.
