Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque Now Accepting 2015 Community Impact Grant Applications

The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD) is now accepting 2015 Community Impact Grant Applications. More than $30,000 will be granted to nonprofit organizations focusing on strong nonprofits, thriving families and vibrant culture. The maximum grant award is $15,000.

The application is completely online and is available at the Community Foundation’s website www.dbqfoundation.org. Applications are due December 31 at 5 p.m. Awards will be announced at the Community Block Party on Friday, February 6.

Community Impact Grants are awarded throughout the tri-state region from the unrestricted funds of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and focus on three priority areas:

Strong Nonprofits: Priority will be given to proposals that build capacity to meet community needs, create collective impact, and ensure collaborative data and investment in leadership.
Thriving Families: Priority will be given to proposals that build increased self-sufficiency, create success in the lives of young people, and ensure lasting commitment to healthy neighborhoods.
Vibrant Culture: Priority will be given to proposals that build appreciation for the arts, create opportunities for increased social offerings, and ensure openness to a growing diverse population.

Eligible projects will address the root cause of social issues and have long-term impact in the Greater Dubuque area. This may include public policy advocacy, public awareness, community engagement, inter-agency collaboration or governmental system reform. Preference will be given to requests that result in improved access to services and needed resources, increased awareness of issues and solutions, or stronger and more sustainable organizations. Eligible organizations include nonprofits, public institutions, and emerging groups organized for nonprofit purposes.

“The Foundation is proud to build strong nonprofits, thriving families and vibrant culture through our Community Impact grant program,” says Nancy Van Milligen, CFGD president and CEO. “These grants help local nonprofits to strategically address unmet needs in our communities and region.”
