DUBUQUE, IOWA — The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque recently welcomed two new staff members to support communications and philanthropy efforts, as well as its Every Child Every Promise initiative.

In September, Lovisa Hogstrom joined the Community Foundation team as an AmeriCorps Vista volunteer. Hogstrom is a recent graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and brings experience in graphic design and public relations. As a student, she worked with the University of Oregon Department of Cinema Studies and School of Law as a graphic designer and strategic communicator, respectfully.

Hogstrom joins the communications and philanthropy departments where she will utilize skills in graphic design, public relations and event organization to increase donor relations and further the awareness about the Foundation.

Shirley Templeton Vaughn is the new executive director of Every Child / Every Promise (ECEP). Vaughn recently retired from Bodine Electric where she was the supply chain director of planning. She has served on the Dubuque Human Society Rights Commission, Dubuque Community Police Relations Committee, Girl Scouts High Awards Committee and The National T.T.T. Society, in addition and also is involved with ethical leadership efforts and professional development trainings and research.

Vaughn aims to further the impact of ECEP by advocating for education policies and engaging with the community to seek support for programs that help to ensure the five promises of ECEP are met for all children in the community.
