Foundation Hosts “Dine Out for Public Schools” Event

DUBUQUE, IOWA—Dubuque’s “Dine Out for Public Schools” event took place on Thursday, November 9th 2017, presented by the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools (FDPS). This event was a collaboration between area restaurants, the community, and FDPS, in raising funds to enrich Dubuque Community School District programs. The goal was to encourage Dubuque residents to dine out at participating restaurants, in an effort to drive business at local eateries, and raise money for school grants.  Diners were encouraged to tell their servers or cashiers that they were “dining out for public schools”.

The following participating restaurants donated 10% of their sales to FDPS on November 9th:

The public was encouraged to spread the word and join the fun by sharing pictures of themselves “Dining Out” at partner restaurants and tagging the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools on social media.
