Camp Albrecht Acres is a private, not for profit, organization nestled on forty acres of wooded land in Sherrill, Iowa. Founded in 1975, Camp Albrecht Acres specializes in providing a unique and comfortable environment for physically and mentally challenged individuals. Admission is granted to all regardless of their ability to pay, disability, race, color, creed, sex, religion, or political affiliation. Counselors are both nationally and internationally recruited for our summer camps, winter respite weekends, and Camp Bee A Friend activities. The camper to counselor ratio at Albrecht Acres is 3:1 and 1:1 when needed. Nursing services are available 24 hours a day during the camping season. Albrecht Acres does not receive direct financial assistance from local, state, or federal government. This special camp operates exclusively on donations, fundraisers, camp fees, and grants.
