We believe all means all. All people are welcome and the real hospitality we offer to all people, all of the time, matters. All are welcomed to worship, take Communion, and connect in this congregation. All people are expected to greet and welcome others. All are encouraged to be part of several circles of friends, circles of service, and one spiritual cell group. We assume the best, and finding the good and the positive are first responses to people, projects, changes, and ideas. We are not afraid to try, to risk, to question. A culture and attitude of grace and love make this possible. Worship is essential and we strive to make it meaningful, inspiring, accessible, and excellent. It is first about thanking and praising God, and second about the time when most of the community gathers to grow and know God and God’s people. Education and learning for all ages is essential. We must continually plan, organize, promote, and carry out meaningful Christian learning opportunities. This can be found in Preschool, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Groups, Summer Camps, Bible Studies, Small Groups, and much more. We have fun! We cannot take ourselves too seriously and believe that good things happen when the Church family plays together. This is where we build relationships of trust and offer points of entry for others. We are not clergy or staff dependent. We utilize clergy and staff to identify, equip, and encourage people to serve God. People, not programs or traditions matter most. Programs and traditions exist for people, not the other way around. Connection, communication, and coordination of all people, visions, and activities are essential. Alignment of all resources, teams, groups and efforts with the mission, vision, and priorities must happen. Invitation and Encouragement We make the commitment to serve and give as much outside our walls, by fulfilling the Great Commission, as we do within our walls. All attached to Grand View will invite people to be a part of worship and the life of Grand View. We encourage one another constantly; sharing love, concern, and resources.
