The McCarthy Center for Nonprofits was founded in 2008 by the late Leo McCarthy and his wife Joy to help strengthen nonprofits throughout Northeast Iowa. As a founding CFGD board member, McCarthy believed that the Foundation’s most important work was to ensure the permanence of nonprofits by helping them build capacity and grow endowments. The McCarthy Center for Nonprofit Learning conference rooms opened in November 2013. The spaces are available for public meetings and suitable for a variety of activities including nonprofit organizational meetings, agency conferences or collaborative discussions. Designed to provide accessible, affordable meeting space for nonprofits to conduct business, obtain training and convene community groups, the 2,175-square-foot conference room features state-of-the-art technology including video conferencing capabilities.
