Between the years of 2000-2049, Iowa can expect to see $531.7 billion transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. In 2020 through 2029 alone, $98.25 billion is expected to pass to heirs.
Jones County Transfer of Wealth
During years 2020-2029, $618 million is expected to transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. Between 2000-2050, the estimated transfer is $3.3 billion.
Transfer of Wealth | Jones County | State of Iowa |
2020-2029 | $ 618 million | $ 98.25 billion |
2000-2049 | $ 3.3 billion | $ 531.7 billion |
If just 5% of the projected transfer between 2000 and 2050 could be invested at the Community Foundation, $165 million would be endowed. Figuring a 4.25% grant payout, an estimated $7 million could be available annually to improve the quality of life in our community and secure our future.
