Allamakee County Community Foundation awards $85K to support area nonprofits

The Allamakee County Community Foundation (ACCF) granted more than $85,000 to support local nonprofits on Tuesday, April 22 at their annual gifts and grants ceremony.

19 nonprofits received grants at the reception held at the Waukon Wellness Center.

“The board always feels like the awards reception is a culmination of at least half of our years work, but it really isn’t—the work goes on,” said Foundation Coordinator Betty Steege.

Steege added that her favorite part of the reception was seeing organizations learn about the many other nonprofits in Allamakee County.

“It’s eye opening for them,” she said.
