Clayton County Foundation for the Future awards nearly $18,000 to local nonprofits

The Clayton County Foundation for the Future awarded $17,823 to area nonprofits through its 2020 grant cycle. The Foundation board will consider rescheduling the grant award celebration when health conditions allow. Nonprofits will receive checks as scheduled to continue their work serving the community.

"Many current needs and actions in our communities are driven by the pandemic, and our nonprofits are working to address those as well as ongoing needs,” said Emily Sadewasser, foundation coordinator. “When our community begins recovering, these projects led by nonprofits will play a role in restoring normalcy and vibrancy to our communities and the lives of Clayton County residents."

Grant funding was made possible by donations to the Clayton County Foundation for the Future Endowment, the Leroy and Colleen Darby Family Endowed Donor-Advised Fund, the A.J. Spiegel Endowment Fund, the Dan Barton Family Endowment, the Watson-Rugland Family Endowment for Clayton County, Dr. Andy and M.J. Smith, and the Dr. Russell and Juanita Loven Endowment.

Donors who give to endowments may benefit from the Endow Iowa 25% State Tax Credit in addition to federal charitable income tax deductions. For more information about giving to local nonprofits through the Foundation, contact Sadewasser at ccff@dbqfoundation.org.
