Community Block Party Endowment Grant Winners Announced

Since opening its doors on February 1, 2003, the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque has been providing community leadership, supporting nonprofits and helping donors to create endowment funds to benefit their communities forever.

As part of its 10-year anniversary celebration, the Foundation hosted a Community Block Party on February 1. Nearly 2,000 community members filled the Roshek Building lobby to meet and learn about 80 of Dubuque’s dedicated nonprofits while enjoying food, drinks and great entertainment from Bell Tower Theater, the Northeast Iowa School of Music and the Dubuque Chorale.

Community members also voted for their favorite nonprofit booths. Five organizations each received a $2,000 endowment grant based on attendee votes:

Favorite Nonprofit Booth (3 winners):
Dubuque Chorale
Dubuque Circles Initiative
Honor Flight

Most Creative Nonprofit Booth:
Hills and Dales

Favorite "New to You Tonight" Nonprofit:
Two by Two Character Education

The Community Foundation thanks all participating nonprofits and attendees for making the Block Party such a great event.
