Great Give Day raises nearly $340,000 for Dubuque-area nonprofits

DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque’s seventh annual Great Give Day, presented in partnership with Theisen’s Home*Farm*Auto, wrapped up at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, May 14, helping nonprofits in the seven-county Dubuque region raise $339,653, comprising 3,008 gifts. 

This year’s total amount raised surpassed last year’s total by $96,455 and is the most raised since 2017. 

“In any year, we make strengthening nonprofits a priority, and this year, the COVID-19 crisis has made supporting our local organizations all the more important,” said Peter Supple, the Community Foundation’s economic opportunity coordinator. “We are so grateful to everyone who contributed in this time of need. Every gift makes a difference.”  

This year, 162 nonprofits from Dubuque, Allamakee, Clinton, Clayton, Delaware, Dyersville, Jackson and Jones Counties participated in Great Give Day. Since 2014, Great Give Day has raised $2,087,264 for local nonprofits. 

Throughout the day, participating organizations competed for $28,250 in bonus prizes. The winning organizations were:
