Hoffman Joins Jones County Community Foundation as Foundation Coordinator

The Jones County Community Foundation (JCCF) is happy to announce Barbara Hoffman has joined the staff as part-time Foundation coordinator.

The Community Foundation connects donors to causes they care about, strengthening nonprofits and strengthening the community. As Foundation coordinator, Hoffman will support the JCCF Board of Directors in their efforts to engage our community and foster current and future philanthropic citizens in Jones County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Barbara as our new coordinator,” said Board President Patty Manuel. “She has experience in various areas that we believe will help as we continue to move JCCF forward.”

Hoffman graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in education and taught middle school in Port Washington, WI. When she moved to Toronto, Canada, with her husband in 1995, she became involved with adult literacy and worked in both the literacy and English as a second language fields.  Upon returning home to Iowa, in 2006, Hoffman became involved with the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP), first through St. Luke’s Hospital and then United Way of East Central Iowa. Through her RSVP work, she became a successful grant writer. She has served as executive director for the Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce since 2011.

“Supporting and enhancing the work of the Jones County Community Foundation Board of Directors will fit well with my Chamber duties,” said Hoffman. “The Chamber already collaborates with other Jones County organizations and will now be able to bring even more focus on the importance of the Community Foundation.”
