LincolnWay Community Foundation awards $16,500 to area nonprofits
DEWITT, Iowa — The LincolnWay Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, announces the awarding of 10 grants to nonprofits in DeWitt, Grand Mound, Goose Lake and Wheatland.
The awards include a continued pledge to support the Frances Banta Waggoner Library expansion with a $5,000 gift each year for five years, and a new pledge of $2,000 to the DeWitt Referral Center each year for three years. The LincolnWay Community Foundation also continued its support of DeWitt Community Hospital Foundation’s program to provide bicycle helmets for second-graders at Cal-Wheat, Central DeWitt and Northeast schools.
The Community Foundation received over $100,000 in requests for funding, demonstrating a great need for assistance while highlighting the amount of energy community leaders are putting into new projects. “We are excited by the work our local nonprofits are doing to improve our communities and pleased that we can provide support for 10 of those projects,” said Pat Henricksen, executive director for the Foundation.
The Community Foundation’s grantmaking is supported by gifts to its endowment fund, which may be eligible for the Endow Iowa 25% State Tax Credit. For more information, visit dbqfoundation.org/lwcf or contact Henricksen at 563-659-5039.
