Local nonprofits raise more than $240,000 on Great Give Day 2019

The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque’s sixth annual Great Give Day, presented in partnership with Theisen’s Home*Farm*Auto, wrapped up at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, May 9, helping nonprofits in the seven-county Dubuque region raise $243,198, comprising 2,379 gifts.

“Great Give Day, like our workshops and grant programs, is an important way that we at the Community Foundation help strengthen nonprofits across the region,” said Nancy Van Milligen, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s event. Every gift makes a difference.”

This year, 170 nonprofits from Dubuque, Allamakee, Clinton, Clayton, Delaware, Dyersville, Jackson and Jones Counties participated in Great Give Day, up from 157 last year. Since 2014, Great Give Day has raised $1,747,244 for local nonprofits.

Throughout the day, participating organizations competed for $28,250 in bonus prizes. The winning organizations were:
