Mariano Joins River Bluff Community Foundation as Philanthropy Coordinator

CLINTON Iowa—The River Bluff Community Foundation (RBCF) is pleased to announce that Alma Mariano has joined the staff as philanthropy coordinator.

Mariano will work to connect community leaders in Clinton and the surrounding area with causes they care about. By working with the Foundation, community leaders can learn about local causes in need of support. Depending on their philanthropic goals, donors may choose to contribute to nonprofit endowment funds at the Foundation or to create their own funds to support specific organizations or fields of interest.

Mariano comes to RBCF from Fulton Corporation, where she works as an accounts payable and receivable clerk. As an active member of the community, Mariano has held many leadership positions including serving as a board member for the Clinton Community School board, as well as the Paul B Sharar Foundation, and has received several awards including the Franciscan Award from the Sisters of St. Francis.

Mariano received her bachelor’s in business administration from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, Iowa, and master’s in education from Western Illinois University.

“What excites me most about this position is its ability to match donors to the nonprofit organization of their choice,” stated Mariano. “I commend the State of Iowa's vision in keeping our communities thriving and its long-term goal on how to do that through community foundations through its Endow Iowa program.”

Carol Machael, RBCF’s founding member and affiliate advisory board chair, expressed excitement for Mariano to begin her new role.

“Alma’s skills with nonprofit organizations and her many connections are assets she brings to the position,” said Machael. “We look forward to an increased community presence with Ms. Mariano's marketing skills, dedication and commitment.”
