McKamey joins LincolnWay Community Foundation

The LincolnWay Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, welcomes new project manager Brett McKamey of DeWitt, assisting long-time executive director Pat Henricksen.

McKamey has 20 years of experience in the corporate world, where he collaborated with team members and clients to develop solutions to challenges. “I have always had a customer-driven focus to the things I do, and that lends well to helping the Community Foundation market its services, make new contacts and support the creation of new funds,” says McKamey.

He is enjoying his new role. “I decided to make a commitment to serving the LincolnWay Community Foundation because I saw all the great things the foundation does to support the community, particularly how it supports other nonprofits in the area,” he explains. “I am most excited about working with, and learning from, all the amazing Community Foundation partners who have been doing this for as little as one year to over 30 years.”

McKamey is managing projects like Great Give Day, a 24-hour online giving event that raised over $8,000 for DeWitt-area nonprofits in May. He also helps with the numerous LincolnWay Community Foundation scholarship and grant applications. This year, McKamey managed a successful campaign for DeWitt Chamber & Development Company’s 2019 Membership Choice Awards, which resulted in the Community Foundation being named Nonprofit of the Year.

“Brett is a great asset to me and the LincolnWay Community Foundation,” says Henricksen. To contribute your own time, talent or treasure to the Community Foundation, contact Henricksen at 563.659.5039 or pkmh34fb@gmail.com.
