New Fund Will Support Monona Butterfly Gardens and Trail

A few months ago, the Clayton County Foundation for the Future challenged area causes to plant the “Seeds for Success”.

Just few months later, the Monona Butterfly Gardens and Trail Committee is well on their way of meeting that challenge by starting a new endowment supporting their beautiful garden and trail.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity here,” said Jim Langhus, leader of the Monona Butterfly Garden and Trail Committee. ”With this endowment we’ll be able to do some things that we couldn’t do before.”

Made possible by a grant, Seeds for Success new endowment challenge grants will provide $1,000 to area causes with a $9,000 local match. The purpose is to encourage more people to create endowments that, once reaching $10,000, will provide annual support forever.

Langhus added that knowing the Seeds for Success grant is an option is encouraging. “That help is fantastic,” he said. “We hope to make our goal of $9,000 within the next few weeks or month.”
