River Bluff Community Foundation welcomes Dunn

The River Bluff Community Foundation welcomes new advisory board member Julie Dunn, executive director of the MercyOne Clinton Foundation.

“I've been a member of the Clinton community for more than 30 years and have been involved with service organizations in various capacities,” Dunn says. “Through the years, I have had the privilege of meeting many people and have worked side-by-side on projects that better our community.

Dunn has been with MercyOne Clinton Medical Center for more than 14 years, serving in the areas of public relations and marketing. She was the first development officer for the Clinton Catholic Schools, now Prince of Peace Catholic School, and helped to establish the school foundation, which continues to raise funds for the enhancement of the schools and students. She also led the Gateway Area Chapter of the American Red Cross as executive director. At MercyOne Clinton Foundation, Julie helped to raise $2 million in a capital campaign for a new linear accelerator for the cancer center.

“Clinton has some of the most generous, giving individuals — not only generous with volunteer efforts, but also generous with financial resources that improve our community,” Dunn says. “I hope that I can lend experience, skills and a positive outlook for the potential of our community, in addition to making connections that will help us further improve the programs and services that we currently have.”

With a master's degree in journalism from the University of Iowa and an undergraduate degree in communications and business from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Dunn looks forward to working with the River Bluff Community Foundation to address community needs, build endowments and work with donors.

“We are excited to have Julie join the board,” said Community Foundation Advisory Board Chair Dave Pillers. “She brings with her many years of non-profit and volunteer experience that will prove beneficial to our organization.”

Dunn joins a new coordinator, Patti Hoffman, at the River Bluff Commuity Foundation. She is looking forward to her new role.

“I am most excited about the opportunity to work with the board and Patti, and to continue the great progress that has already been made,” she said.
