Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools 2020 Preview

The Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools is looking ahead to great things in 2020.

We work closely with the Dubuque Community School District and focus on its strategic plan to enhance student education with projects and programs that aren’t funded by the district budget. In the coming year, we are focusing on:

FDPS Field Trip Fund: The district plans to enhance instruction to more deeply engage students in their learning. An effective way to do this is to send students on field trips that impact learning in the classroom. The Foundation wants to expand field trip opportunities to all grade levels in the district.

FDPS Project Based Learning Fund: Hands-on activities engage students in their learning while also allowing them to learn from community members and preparing them for careers in our community. With the “tiny house” project almost completed, we are ready to engage students in additional hands-on learning to prepare them for real-world experiences.
